Golf: Osprey Valley, Caledon Country Club
Osprey Valley (now TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley) near Alton, Ontario, to be one of the premier and best-value public golf destinations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The facility features three distinct 18-hole courses—the North, Hoot, and Heathlands. In 2025 and 2026 it has hosted the Canadian Open.
Caledon Country Club, another 18-hole course in Inglewood that offers terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every skill level.
Erin Heights and CalErin:
smaller, very local 9-hole courses include, Erin Heights, and CalErin.
Skiing: Hockley Valley (public ski hill)
30 minutes away, the Hockley Valley Resort is right beside Adomo Estates Winery. If you don’t fancy skiing, you can always try out the spa, restaurants at the resort - so there really is something for everyone!
Caledon Ski Club (private members club, pictured above) is only 8 minutes from WMK and so allows member’s guests if referred! Set in 500 acres of beautiful countryside, with 25 slopes, with 6 all-Quad chairlifts & 2 magic carpets, plus 8KM of snowshoe trails and a snowboard park.
Fishing - Guelph, Belwood and Island Lake.
Guelph Lake, a 240-hectare reservoir located on the Grand River offers excellent fishing for northern pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass, black crappie, and yellow perch.
Belwood Lake, upstream of Shand Dam is a superb brown trout fishery that also supports pike, perch, walleye and bullhead. Belwood Country Market has the best butter tarts you’ve ever had.
Hawkeye Falconry Experience
located just south of Erin at 5048 Erin First Line in Acton, ON. Visitors consistently praise the 10-acre facility for its knowledgeable staff, interactive bird handling, and intimate, small-group sessions. Falconry experiences are available from April through November, while specialized Owl handling sessions run from November through March. Prices vary based on the duration of the tour (1, 2, or 3-hour packages available).
Hiking: Bruce, Caledon, Elora Cateract and more
One or Elsa’s best things to do is hike, so we have explored many of the trails in the area and there are LOTS! When you come to share we can share some of the favourites.
A few others to check out: Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, Silvercreek Conservation Area and the Rockwood Conservation Area.
Biking:
Erin, Ontario offers a great mix of beginner and moderate biking trails, ranging from scenic rail trails to forested mountain bike singletrack.
