Kids Cooking Classes 2018

Claire Loftus, previously a school teacher, has a wonderful passion for cooking! Her classes are fun and energetic. She worked with us at Heatherlea and my girls were always drawn to her. They absolutely adore her and they learned so much from Claire.

Feast of Fish, Apirl 2018

I thoroughly enjoyed myself last night. Your kitchen is spectacular. Your manner is so charming, you are a fountain of information. Your humour made things seem timeless as the time flew by. I would definitely take another lesson.  Joanne Henkie

What a FUN night - We learned about the values of different Fish, nutrient break downs and health benefits, witnessed great appetizers being made, created our own fabulously delicious fish (lobster and mussel) soup - all the same ingredients yet 3 different teams making it with their own love so all turned out slightly different. Followed by Sea Bass entree. An incredibly entertaining evening and I highly, highly recommend it! Next time I am in town will see what is on the Menu. - Margarita Peloso

Had a wonderful time with friends at Claire's fish cooking class. Got some yummy recipes, ate some great food and even learned some things like how to fillet a fish. Thoroughly enjoyed this class and hope to take more. I made the Red Thai Monkfish and Prawn curry at home and "he liked it". - Evie Ender

To make cookery with children look effortless, with such delicious results and served with a generous serving of humour and patience is a talent Claire has in abundance - she is quite simply a rare gem… a culinary Wonder Woman!  - Pippa Daverson, Teacher

Bite-Size Business Project, Kensington Prep School

I have never seen a group of children so excited and inspired about learning as were the grade 6 students involved in 'The Bite Size Business' project headed by Claire Loftus.  The opportunity to create, cook, and market a food product gave the students enormous confidence and skills in food preparation as well as an education into the world of marketing and an opportunity to see themselves as entrepreneurs.   It was the most practical educational experience that I feel my daughter has ever had at school and definitely the most fun!  A definite 5 stars! - Rachel Mitchel (parent)

Nottinghill and Ealing Junior School

Claire Loftus, came into our school in April to run some international cooking days for Years 4-6.  It was a huge success and really added a new and exciting dimension to our Interactive Curriculum.  Claire worked with whole classes; Year 4 cooked Indian Food, Year 5 Chinese and Year 6 East African.  After whole class demonstrations children were split into groups and then rotated around 3-4 hands-on cooking activities throughout either the morning or afternoon sessions.  Claire was professional, unflappable, knowledgeable and a hugely competent and inspiring teacher.  The children absolutely loved the experience and I would highly recommend Claire. - Sarah Burke (teacher)

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the fabulous canapes this year.  We have had many super comments about the food once again.  I hope we will be able to make a date with you again for next year. - Dr Julie Cane

40th Wedding Anniversary Weekend, Somerset

We're still talking and thinking about our fabulous weekend at Widcombe Grange. What a way to celebrate 40 years of marriage! We have had some wonderful feedback from our friends and it has obviously made a lasting impression on them. We would like to sincerely thank you for your fabulous contribution to the success of the celebrations- your food was outstanding and you were delightful! You worked so hard but you always had a smile! We would be happy to recommend you to anyone. - Mary and Lol Rooney

House Party – August Bank Holiday at Anthony House, Torpoint Cornwall

Claire came to cook for a house party of 10 for the bank holiday weekend in Cornwall. She was quite simply fantastic. She is a very talented cook, turning out faultless canapés and meals every time. Everything she cooked for us was either very good or exceptional. She is very organised and completely unflappable and she works extremely hard. On top of all that, she is a delightful and charming person and a real pleasure to have around. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. - Rebecca Carew Pole

Children’s Birthday Baking Party

When my daughter asked for a cupcake party for are 11th birthday, at home with 12 friends panic set in but I need not have worried. Claire, effortlessly took care of it all. From beginning till end is was a well planned operation.  Every detail had been thought of; from handmade recipe booklets, cake boxes to decorate, recipes cards scaled down so girls could measure and cook in pairs, cakes for the girls to decorate whilst their own were baking and all ingredients and equipment supplied and set up with minimum fuss. Her manner with the girls was enthusiastic and friendly and her instructions were clear and systematic throughout. The party was a roaring success and a visionary treat for all to behold. This was definitely the easiest and most delightful party I could ever have wished for and I will have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Claire. The ‘icing on the cake’ was when my daughter said “Thank you Mummy that was the best birthday party I have ever had!”  Thank you Claire for my making my daughter’s day so special! - Jessica Hurl
